How much house is in it?

I only said that I don’t want any KNX, but I also don’t use Alexa, Homekit, Bixbi, Siri etc. I just want to point out that these things are not only a data protection problem, but also bring security vulnerabilities into your house. In any case, I would never connect a window or door opener with something like that.

Photovoltaics currently cost around 1000 euros per kW-peak (pure material costs), for safety reasons I would advise against Li-ion batteries. Let the product first mature in the market – there will still be one or another house burning down until the residual risk goes to zero.

But a terrace is not rocket science, even an ordinary person can do it. Somehow these days, there is widespread mania for big garden landscapers everywhere, although this is where you can save the easiest. In the entire building area of my parents (80s) there was only one “exotic” who did not do the outdoor area himself.

@Photovoltaics: Net price I agree with you, if you mean gross price then rather only polycrystalline 265w modules

@Terrace: I agree with you. Saving potential very high. Risk of herniated disc also. But if you have never done it before, you also risk having to look at poor workmanship for a long time. By the way, this also applies primarily to tiles, because they are not so easy to tear out.

I just added that. I only meant the material (monocrystalline), the installation of course also comes on top and is not cheap plus mounting material...

I am also amazed that there are people who save up to 50,000€ on the house in order to get a great garden/terrace area.

Point foundations in the dirt, beams laid on top, terrace boards screwed on with 1cm spacing, a bit of wood protection in between, done. Costs next to nothing and you have peace for 10 years. Then you can still decide whether it should be a fancy convertible or finally the long-missed professional terrace.

...and as has been written here several times before, you also have to be aware of what you can realistically manage time-wise... It always sounds very good when you say, I enjoy doing things myself and can also save money... but you also need to have the time... and quite a few other points (longer construction phase, possibly more expensive material purchase, necessary tools, liability/warranty, etc.) One can certainly save quite a bit... but in most cases not as much as you initially think.
