Wow, I didn't know that (excuse me - I'm Swiss). That could also become interesting for me. After all, you can deduct quite a bit on your taxes. Thanks for the tip .

We were able to deduct everything because the renovation took place in preparation for the move. Under certain conditions, you can also deduct craftsmen costs before moving. It was not a problem at all and no one asked about it. We were able to deduct the maximum amount of 1200€ upon presentation of the receipts.

Moved in January and had everything paved in May/June... also included the personnel costs in the tax return... so we received 1,200 euros back. Had to submit bank statements afterwards, but otherwise it went through without problems.

That is really good to know. But we are still far from there.

You can also simply look at the alternatives to KNX. For example, in our rented apartment, I retrofitted "Z-Z-Wave" components. The whole thing works via radio standard and can then be controlled via app, web browser, or Alexa. Costs were about 100 euros for Raspberry Pi + module and 45-50€ per endpoint. It doesn't always have to be the most expensive option

We have old-school standard electrical wiring and don't miss anything at all. It cost just under €11,000 from the control cabinet to the socket.
