Slackers, low performers, etc. certainly exist in the private sector as well. It’s just that there, you can’t afford to broadcast it to the outside world like you can in the public service.

Does this nonsense ever end here? Just go and vote accordingly, and that’s it.

Try typing "Unternehmensberater beschafft Masken" into Google. That’s how reformed the dear civil servants are...

First of all, thanks again for the many contributions. Unfortunately, it takes me a while to respond repeatedly. But it’s amazing how much the civil service is being discussed ^^

1) This is where it starts, you are right! The stated values were roughly estimated without analyzing the household book beforehand. My mistake. 2) I will create a new thread with a detailed cost overview of my finances and ask you for your assessment and request. 3) I do keep records, but does anyone here have a checklist so that I don’t forget any item when preparing it? Possibly with a link or maybe a file can be sent here?!

1) Similar to above, I have to list my costs much more detailed.

1) Basically, I want to move into something of my own. 2) The decision about the new build is not final. For the location, however, it is a good price, which is why I am considering it in the first place. 3) Alternatively, I could imagine moving into a condominium. In the long term, I do not want to pay rent anymore. That is the core point.

I understand and I kneel down!
With (y)our outstanding expertise, one might then perhaps wonder what one did wrong in life if, despite this almost galactic expertise, one still didn’t get the best job or become a civil servant and finally brought some life into the place there.
Even if your description seems funny, it doesn’t speak against you that you are so proud of your wife (we are now too), but just the same, with increasing life/work experience, one knows that course grades do not necessarily have to be reflected equally positively in work quality. Could be — doesn’t have to be!

My professional experience taught me that top course graduates are often able to reproduce memorized material, but in daily work life are just as often stressed, overwhelmed, and sometimes useless without even noticing it themselves; for this reason, my enthusiasm in this regard is limited.

Somehow, I like people who openly acknowledge their quirks, can laugh about their weaknesses and mishaps, and admit that it’s also nice to be lazy at work sometimes.
Too often, I had to look behind the scenes of winner types and model employees because of my job and found there often less brilliant pictures than those displayed in the showcase.

....which is why I don’t understand why these critics simply didn’t become civil servants themselves and could thus have a happy, lazy life. Free after the motto: "I used to be afraid of work, today I could just lie down next to it."
