You don't want the postman to always come onto your property, do you?
I didn’t know it is allowed to place your private mailbox on public land. It wouldn’t work here anyway because our property ends directly at the street without a sidewalk. (see photo) My nice mailbox would get run over pretty quickly. ;-) Nasty, very nasty other drivers. ;-)
well, here it is common for the mailbox to be near the front door.
That’s comfortable. :)
If the property is fenced, then of course it’s at the front fence; if the access is open, then also gladly near the front door.
But that only works if your property is not fenced.
As it stands, I will try not to fence our property. I think a fence makes a property look even smaller and more cramped. If it’s not practical, then a fence/hedge will be put on the yet open two sides at the back and the front. (On the right and left, the neighbors have fences, plants, hedges.)
