The sanitary company is almost done. Tomorrow the insulation will be installed, or rather the underfloor heating will be laid afterwards.

What surprised me a bit was that the water supply/drain in the kitchen is surface-mounted. Yes, it was stated in the construction service description, but I couldn't imagine what the final product would look like.

Do you have a basement? If it's just a slab, then the bitumen waterproofing is missing, this topic came up here recently...

No basement. Exactly because of this topic, I recently spoke to my construction manager and my expert about it. Both said it is not necessary. Since the base slab is made of waterproof concrete (WU-Beton), this is not required.

The expert wrote to me:

"the requirement for waterproofing (e.g. welding membrane) results from DIN 18533. However, this standard does not apply to components that are inherently waterproof, such as the base slab of your building."

whereas there is again a difference whether the base slab was simply poured from WU concrete or if it is really a WU base slab. Simple WU concrete is not watertight.

Best regards

I think the whole topic will be a point of discussion for every 3rd house...

I don't know why the kitchen is surface-mounted... I wouldn't like it anyway...

Hello, in the picture "20200303_131405408_ios-jpg" there is a cable visible (yellow?) which looks like a network or control cable to me. Shouldn't this be laid in a protective conduit? Or is it green/yellow (grounding?)
