Visually well-designed fireplace and the color also turned out well. With too much heat: open the window and the house is no longer "sealed." : To each their own. If the fireplace is financially feasible and brings great joy, it is a good investment.

I can’t think of anything I could have done with the extra money except maybe a few more square meters, but even that not necessarily because 1. 140 sqm plus cellar is enough for us and 2. we didn’t have to make any compromises regarding our equipment, rather the opposite, we kept updating continuously because there was still money left over.

The reason for the fireplace is as simple as it might be unnecessary: if the outdoor unit of the air-to-water heat pump breaks down in winter, I still have warmth inside, even if I have to wait 10 days for the service technician.

We will simply let the overheating issue come as it may. Whether it will be an issue will be decided in winter. We have so much mass without ETICS, without drywall and insulation, practically all concrete and bricks with so much open space, that I see the issue rather relaxed.

What do you want to say with that? The kW specifications on the fireplace only indicate how much you *could* fire, but not how much you *have to*! You can also only put a few logs on a fireplace designed for 8.7 kW: small fire and short duration = little heat.

If the chimney sweep has approved it (for us, the notice for the shell construction acceptance, for example, states 7-8 kW), then you can definitely make full use of that, a larger fireplace always looks better than a too small one. (My opinion) How little you actually fire then luckily remains up to you.

This thread has successfully appealed to my proudness as a home builder Here it is.

In the meantime, we have been living here for almost 2.5 years. The forum was especially helpful to me regarding fundamental questions about financing. Thanks again!
