Yes, otherwise that would be nonsense. With the heat pump, one should rather think about photovoltaics.

As a conservative builder, I tell you: Don't be fooled: TUC uses the following trick: Poor wall construction is compensated by technology. Better is: Take the thick wall, gas, and if necessary only controlled residential ventilation, if feasible, plus FHZ. Your house will be more economical in practice than with version 1. Karsten

Town & Country is affordable, but adjusted for features, no longer a price miracle!

Sure, you can live with, for example, a plastic front door without windows and with a panel insert. However, other providers offer, for example, aluminum doors with double-sided overlay panels, including window elements on request and stainless steel bar handles as standard. Or tiles: xx sqm of small format up to max. €25...30/sqm (which is not much in specialized retail), others also offer large format up to €40/sqm, etc.

These were many points where our neighbors currently have to massively upgrade just to at least reach our basic standard. In the end, all houses cost the same...

No, they are not. For example, we don't care at all about an aluminum door, plastic with filling and 5 frosted glass panes and a door handle made of stainless steel on the outside is completely sufficient, it was standard with the general contractor. Tiles 60*30 are more than enough for us, 25,- per sqm was also enough, even comfortably, we stayed below that and even got some credit. Mottenhausen, with your provider I HAVE to take the expensive one for our frills – with TUC I can choose whether I want it or would rather treat myself to a nicer terrace or whatever. Therefore, the TUC principle is fairer. Karsten

that sounds good, we have a similar mindset to you. We also went to a few house viewings where there was another front door with glass and that is completely enough for us.

Otherwise, we have chosen windows and front door in anthracite and a chimney for the fireplace.
We also chose a walk-in shower: we don’t yet know if with a shower core or tiled at the bottom, we were advised to go with the shower core because of joints and porosity over the years (which can lead to problems). The price is the same.
Underfloor heating and towel radiator in the bathroom.
I believe a decentralized ventilation system is standard, although some don’t install it because of drafts, etc. Does anyone have experience with this?
Ventilating manually would not be a problem; we always do that.

Exactly. Especially since the standard front door at Town & Country actually has a large glass element in the door as well as a sort of fixed window right next to it. Overall, we upgraded very little... apart from the type of heating. So far we absolutely do not regret having decided in favor of Town & Country. get used to being dismissed here now and then as a second-class builder if you build with T&V (this does not refer to people who have written here in the thread)
