We have had a door like this (80cm wide, handleless) to the pantry in "use" for 5 months. Basically, I can recommend it without reservation, although that certainly depends on the need. I don't need to get in there with a baking tray ;)

Drink crates etc. are no problem, and unsightly appliances like the microwave or the cordless vacuum cleaner can also be conveniently but invisibly hidden there.

The different door widths (4x50, 1x20, 1x80) do not bother us.

I currently only have the picture including the dining table for the overall view and a few from the construction phase on hand:

But that is more of a wall unit in the kitchen, not the kitchen itself.

Since we do not know the plans of the kitchen, that is irrelevant for now; it was about the type of door. If the door would be in the way when open, meaning I would have to close it first to get back into the kitchen, I wouldn't be up for that. Ours sometimes stays open for a longer time when I know I have to go in there repeatedly to get ingredients etc. or while the microwave is being used.

Looks different on a sturdy door frame than on the edge of a kitchen door edge banding not made for it. You just have to know that.

What is the "but" in that?

The door would then be standing in the kitchen for the question, so it would be open. I don’t think ’s comment is that wrong: the thought arises that you would have an open door IN the kitchen, which can be very disturbing. In your case, the wall unit is outsourced.

With us, the door will open inward into the pantry, specifically to a spot where it does not disturb or get in the way. This way, the door can also remain open longer. With Leicht, this is possible; with Häcker, opening inward was not possible.
