Flow temperatures always make tiles feel cold, it is never pleasant. Especially not very nice for children.
Wood look (and yes, there are quite chic ones nowadays) doesn't help either,
Completely tiled apartments or houses always give me this "vacation apartment feeling"... as long as it’s durable.
You probably think of those with the smooth surface.
But the quality makes the difference here. There are tiles that actually look "soft," matte surface with warm color. Texture and sandy surfaces, for example. If you take porous granite, it is much more pleasant than polished. Of course, they are all hard.
And I don’t need slippers, although I get the typical women’s problem with cold feet. Our tiles usually have a pleasant temperature.
The wood structure in a tile does not make it warm or soft in my opinion.
By the way, our parquet is definitely colder in comparison, although it is more pleasant because of the wood. There isn't much difference in that respect.

Tiles are a beautiful flooring over the surface if you want to zone with carpets. That then naturally also works for play areas.

Have you been told why natural stone tiles should better not be used? I’m an absolute layman!
