There is nothing more uncomfortable than tiles in the living area... even the cheapest laminate would be preferable to me. The wood look (and yes, there are quite stylish ones nowadays) doesn’t help either, as soon as you step on it (without shoes), the bathroom/hallway feeling sets in. Underfloor heating with nowadays low supply temperatures always makes tiles feel cold, it is never pleasant. Especially not great for children.

Personally, I like parquet by far the best; there are also quite robust types available (of course not comparable to tiles). If you want something more durable and care less about the feel, you can switch to vinyl.

It hasn’t been laid yet, I hope they don’t have to be too thick. Yes, wood definitely feels different. For us, though, durability is more important, that’s why we chose the compromise with a wood look.

We have glued and sealed cork. The feel underfoot is very pleasant. In the children's rooms, I also find it very good, warm, soft and yet smooth (ideal playing surface for all kinds of ...). In the bathrooms and in the utility room, we have tiles.

The alternative for me would be parquet or [Auslegware] (aka carpet), the latter especially in the bedroom.

When the parquet is mentioned here, have you installed solid parquet or engineered parquet? And at what price per square meter? The prices are also interesting for the tiles

Super, thanks!

No concerns about plasticizers with vinyl?

We will also have underfloor heating installed and I tend to go for tiles with relatively large-format surfaces, but somehow I also like wood – only parquet is for me personally (depending on the sealing) on the one hand too expensive and on the other very sensitive.
