Yes, we are allowed to do that. There is no development plan. Construction is carried out according to § 34 of the Building Code. Open construction method.

Hello,

I have a suggestion for the attic:

Consider whether you really want to put a wall between the dressing room and the bedroom.

We solved it in our place by leaving out that wall and instead placing a floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobe between the two rooms.

Whether this wardrobe is used only from one side, completely from both sides, or partially from the dressing room and partially from the bedroom can be decided individually.

In any case, this solution gains you the space that the wall would have otherwise occupied.

On the ground floor, I would reconsider the door from the storage room to the garage.

In my opinion, the door unnecessarily takes up space both in the garage and in the storage room. Also, you have to consider the cost of a suitably insulated door. For me, the possibility to carry groceries directly from the garage to the storage room is not worth it.

Regards,

Dirk

One more thing:

In the bathroom in the attic, if I were you, I would consider relocating the access to the walk-in shower from the door area to the back, at the end near the bathtub.

Our bathroom is arranged similarly to your planned one - however, our access is exactly at the "back" end of the shower.

I find that more visually appealing and also see practical reasons:

- The shower can be entered and exited even when the bathroom door is open

- I don’t risk running into the bathroom door when coming out of the shower and someone else wants to enter the bathroom at the same time...

How high is your knee wall? If it’s high enough, it would also be worth considering using the "dead corner" between the shower back wall and the knee wall (at least partially) as a built-in cabinet...

Hey, thanks for your tips. I had already thought about the dressing room. But then it’s a shame that we can’t hang a TV on the wall at the end of the bed :). Regarding the shower, you mean exactly mirrored to the current version, right? But then the window is in the way. Hmm. I also consider the door on the ground floor unnecessary, because otherwise the space this room should offer cannot be used. Our knee wall is currently at 1.40m. We could raise it, but there are always costs involved. What do you think about the floor plan otherwise? Window arrangements still need to be revised, so don’t pay too much attention to that.

And Dirk probably thought that instead of the wall, for example, placing a 100 cm cabinet towards the "closet room", then, for example, an open cabinet facing the bed .. space for a TV in an open compartment with doors above and below, and then again 100 cm cabinet towards the closet room. The backsides of the cabinets can then be covered with floor-to-ceiling thin panels, wallpapered, etc. This way you have the closet room partition and an integrated solution facing the bed. I would do it like that too; you gain at least 200 cm of cabinet space. Just looked again .. okay, it won't be 200 cm but about 150 cm. Pax also offers 75 cm wide cabinets ... maybe 75-100-75 fits.

Honestly, I think the children's rooms are too dark. Ours are just a bit bigger and also have windows on the gable sides, but both rooms also have a window in the dormer facing south, and only because of that do the rooms actually feel really bright. When the blinds are down here, it’s really quite gloomy in the room. But that could also be due to habit... And I would strongly advise against skylights in bedrooms... We have one in the bathroom and when it rains, it’s really loud. So for me, that would absolutely be out of the question.... I would probably prefer a dormer or change the ridge direction again...
