It's not worth doing that - I see a pretty unsellable house there. And moreover, one that you wouldn't believe was drawn when you see it built. There are intricacies in it that one would tolerate in a log cabin for vacation rental - but it is too large for that.

Really? Well, I'm not so familiar with it, but what do you mean by too complicated? Too long distances or what do you mean?

May I jump back to the very first post? I don’t understand the fixation on bungalows. Given the plot and the budget, a reasonable 1.5-story house seems to me the very best option: compact, affordable, zoned, no dark center, less footprint, hundreds of suitable floor plans available!

Why deviate from the path of virtue? Are you also among those who worry in their late twenties that they might someday no longer be able to go up stairs

Of course you may :) We will also have the 1.5-story house from last year recalculated to see if there has been any change in price, but according to the last cost estimate, the bungalow will only be slightly more expensive. The plot is also sufficient for us even with the larger built-up area, although the orientation is a bit more difficult, but we already discussed last year with the 1.5-story house what the best way might be. Oh no, not that, we are fit enough to climb stairs, 5th floor without an elevator says hello. But if I can have everything on one level, why shouldn’t I do that? It’s simply more relaxed and practical for us. If changing the basic dimensions is not possible or only possible with an extreme surcharge, we will certainly consider the 1.5-story house again. I will wait for Monday and call the company again to see if I misunderstood or not. Then we can either continue in the old thread or here :D

We will build a bungalow and it is not only slightly more expensive than a 1.5-story house. Even just because you have a much larger roof, bigger floor slabs, and it is harder to reach kfw55. For us, it was easily a 10% surcharge compared to a city villa or a 1.5-story house.

The roof and the base slab are included in the house price, and kfw55 is currently not planned. The additional foundation costs/earthworks will certainly be higher, but since the ground is good and the plot is level, I don’t see a big problem so far. As mentioned, I will have both exactly the same calculated again finally and see what comes out at least technically for the house, and I will assume higher additional construction costs for the bungalow.
