2.84m might actually be just a bit too narrow. Currently, we have 3m for the couch and floor lamp in the corner. It shouldn’t be less than that. The bathroom is indeed wrongly positioned in this version; I only noticed it thanks to your comment, thanks! I have also considered making the house one meter wider. But with 14m length and 2 full floors, that would be 28 sqm more, so over €50k and a total living area of about 200 sqm. I fear that would simply blow our financial budget. So the house would have to be shortened by at least 1m or more. But I will tinker around in that direction.

But the kitchen is too narrow for that. You are missing a meter.

Windows are not planned yet, therefore without dimensions, that will come once we are happy enough with the room program.

What do you mean the wall limiting the closet in the bedroom is wrong?

There are no elevations yet. We are just now fixing the rooms in their positions and dimensions. Then it goes deeper into detailed planning with windows and facade.

1. Our architect actually only offers phases 1-4 because he is 80% employed by a housing company and lacks the time. If you want more support, he has a general contractor (GU) he works with.

2. I expressed myself wrongly there. We actually want to build turnkey with one company. However, we did not like the planning processes there, as they were very quick and careless (of course, they want to get the signature quickly first). Therefore, we decided to first plan freely with an architect and then request offers. How and with whom we build still has to be seen.

Read the comments through again carefully!
You are missing quite a bit!

Nobody is talking about that.

As already asked: where are there two conceptual residential units?

Plan differently?…!

Who sets the 14 meters? Sorry, but I’m really missing the planning status here, the ability to change something or everything. There is nothing about this plan to stick to.

The roof pitch is not yet decided. However, I could imagine 30 degrees. But it is definitely a good point that it is advantageous for the attic if we make the house wider!

There are no direct reasons for that. The architect just likes to build elongated shapes and it fits in that I had this lying L in combination with the carport in mind, which then creates a sheltered garden.

But yes, slightly wider and therefore less long is definitely very interesting, I will play around with the plans to get a better idea of it.
