I would pull the intended living room separation further into the chill-out area, making the dining area larger (at 2.76 it is too narrow anyway when the dining table is in use, the bench is barely accessible) and then have a straight view at the end of the hallway to the open entrance to the dining area.
If you see that as positive, then that's fine. It's your house after all.
I don’t like the kitchen at all. It is classically closed off and also very dark. The kitchen lacks windows and daylight. A view into the greenery and garden with a countertop in front of the window so you can keep an eye on the child. I don’t see a large sliding door either, as desired. I have already said something about the dining area.
You might want to consider whether you rather "close off" the living room and make a large open kitchen-dining area.
Moving the stairs further forward towards the entrance would also have advantages, so that the long hallway could be shortened and the freed square meters turned into a living room.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
I don’t want a direct view into the living area right now, so our tastes just differ there. ^^
With the bench it really gets too narrow, that’s a good point. We will probably also put the bench on the west side.
We considered an open kitchen-dining area at first but then deliberately decided to separate the kitchen so that one of us can work there with the door closed without bothering the rest of the ground floor too much.
Moving the stairs forward would actually be very interesting, but then it gets difficult with two residential units. Although the current plan doesn’t allow that anyway because the bathroom on the ground floor is still wrongly placed. I only realized that thanks to this thread Oo.
As mentioned, windows are not yet planned. In the kitchen, a lockable terrace door was initially important to us. But if we implement the plan as it is, additional windows (bands) will of course be added.
