Who is supposed to live on the ground floor? The bathroom is also not age-appropriate.

At 35 years - albeit appearing prematurely gray from the avatar - I would not waste a thought on downsizing to age-appropriate living in existing buildings. The trend, following the motto of the New Bremen Town Musicians "we can find something better than a stairlift anywhere," to become builders again near retirement, has long since reached those born in 1960 and later.

I gladly save the 8 sqm hallway and use it otherwise. Do you have an idea how? :)

It was already mentioned, "simply" redesign without "1/3 bowling alley."

As already said: different base shape (does not mean becoming larger). With a closed architecture featuring a corridor, you must accordingly ensure that the corridor does not become excessively long. If necessary, try positioning the entrance on the long side of the house.

I definitely want to try moving the house entrance to the south corner, for example.
Just because we like a lot about the current floor plan doesn’t mean I’m not open to radically different approaches either. I don’t rule out anything so early in the phase. ^^

Things are really busy at work for me right now, hence the late reply to you and why it will take me a few days to provide another update here.

if you like a rectangular house, then take a look at the floor plan of the Town & Country town house Aura 125. The house is even only 6.50€ wide. Also with a side entrance. And a (nicer) visual axis through the whole house. If you don't want that, then put a door in at the transition to the dining area and the hallway won't be quite so long anymore. Maybe a useful template.
