I am also rather skeptical. If the budget cannot be increased, I do see a lot of potential to downsize the house. Honestly, I find the whole thing way too big for two people. You’d need a butler to open the door when someone rings because it’s too far. ;)

It is therefore important to also plan central rooms such as living with fireplace, dining or the kitchen furnished from time to time. That helps to check whether sight lines etc. still work.

We are currently feeling our way forward and your comments are very helpful, for example the note about tall cabinets and windows. As mentioned, I will draw in furniture.

The three levels were actually intended as a tower and only the first floor extends beyond that. But the floor plans don’t quite work yet.
