Actually, the goal is more to steer you away from your floor plan. Because I don't find it good, especially the kitchen/dining/living area ... then the location of the children's rooms, the layout of the parents' area ... and above all more than 20 sqm for the hallway, stairs, and open space on the upper floor.

If you don’t like the floor plan as it is, it also helps a lot if you list in detail exactly what you like or don’t like about it (such as the lighting situation). We can plan blindly 50 times here, but since we don’t know you, we of course don’t know exactly what you like and don’t like. If you say what doesn’t suit you, counterproposals can also be made.

Many roads lead to Rome and also to a good floor plan. It doesn't have to be Katja's, but yours shouldn't be the last one either. Let me put it this way: Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce is something anyone can make and it tastes great too. If that's too boring for someone, they should try asparagus with sweet and sour sauce, if they don't want it to be so boring. But I'll go out on a limb and say that if it doesn't taste good, it's too much of a waste of the expensive asparagus to experiment like that, and next time it's better to stick with the Hollandaise.

Yes, I actually feel the same way and it was never my intention. But I don’t really like the new floor plan either. The kitchen is just really ugly – atrium or not. And the living room is totally cramped, isn’t it? Regarding the daylight spot, I just want to say briefly that you might want to google again what that actually is. You can really let light in well over a hipped roof with it. How is it actually with that storage room under the garage? Would it be an option to include it within the thermal envelope of the basement? It has to be founded anyway, and I see making the walls thicker and connecting it as less problematic and also not much more expensive. However, I am less familiar with that. Then you would of course have many more options – for example, placing the guest room there. For the ground floor, in my opinion it is important to leave the opening to the garden across the entire width in the living room. Your house will be special anyway because it’s on a slope. I wouldn’t now plan the impossible by force just to be different from others. What really makes it special is the design of the facade, windows, and outdoor areas. But maybe you need to go through a few more examples so you can say more precisely what you have in mind.

Thank you for your opinion. Including the storage room within the thermal envelope is out of the question simply because we need the storage space. It is basically our cellar substitute. We are currently still waiting for the second draft from the other general contractor. Maybe something will come out of that. PS: under daylight spot, I actually imagined something different.

Hmm, think carefully about what should and can go in there. A cellar is usually connected to the thermal envelope and does not freeze. Basically, only gardening tools, trash, or things like bicycles & co. can go into an unheated room without insulation. What doesn't work here: fabrics of all kinds, most foodstuffs, most liquids, paper, etc. – basically everything that cannot withstand the weather over time. In my opinion, this is not a cellar replacement. In the end, you have an expensive equipment room that you could have placed as a wooden shed without a building permit anywhere in the garden for 1000 euros.
