The dining area is also one of my points. Distance between sofa and TV is not a problem. This is how it currently is with us as well and that is good

Nevertheless, it is a winding path past the table, an uncomfortable sofa spot in the middle of the room, and the kitchen is completely unergonomic, furthermore with open space above.

How about moving the sofa/TV area into the kitchen area... and cooking/eating on the terrace?

Unfortunately, a site plan is still missing, and I found Katja's planning from more successful.

It is also a fact that when part of a floor is built into a slope, a square house shape is not necessarily the be-all and end-all. The slightly more rectangular shape from Katja’s ( ) planning is better suited.

Thank you for your input. I have also considered swapping living and kitchen, but in the end, I always end up at a dead end and like it less than before. What I like about the design besides the already mentioned points is that it is not so "off the shelf." Almost all houses on the slope with living in the basement and sleeping on the upper floor that I have seen corresponded more or less to the original design. Who doesn't like the feeling of having something special?

But the special thing must also work well to be good.

... so, have you looked at post 31 by kaho374 again? What doesn’t fit there? I’ll bring the floor plans here again and place your latest version as a comparison each time:

Katja placed a lot of value on functionality, which I can also very well understand. However, a "mix" is more important to me. The only thing that doesn't work there is the upstairs hallway. Although it says daylight spot, it will be a tent or gable roof. Therefore, not possible. Ergo, hallway too dark.
