Unfortunately, I have not been able to discuss the points further because the architect is sick. However, I have added a few measurements to the floor plans.

What exactly do you not like about the upper floor?

Regards and have a sunny weekend,

Are the yellow speech bubbles supposed to be placeholders for a footnote asterisk and all mean 80 cm door width? - that would be a bit tight; the construction reference measure of 87.5 cm would be standard for room doors.

That has not changed since post #9.

2.67 or 2.76 is too narrow for the kitchen, office, and especially Child 1, who also has sloping ceilings.

Just as an example, the kitchen at 2.76: That’s 4x60 cabinets + 1x30, which you can make floor-to-ceiling in the current plan with the stovetop on the upper side of the plan. One of the 60s tends to be a dead corner. Additionally, a maximum of 1.90m for the peninsula to still have a proper passage on the lower side of the plan.

Counter space is basically only on the peninsula if you want at least somewhat enough storage space.

If the budget allows, I would also extend the whole thing to the south.

I actually have no experience with building plans and therefore still have difficulty evaluating the architect's planning for myself. So I will take the necessary time and gratefully accept any feedback for as long as it lasts. The speech bubbles are the points I want to discuss with the architect (feedback from here in the forum, from friends, from me, etc.). The doors currently all have a width of 0.89 m, except for the living room door (1 m). However, I would like to make the doors in the living room door, guest WC, and study on the ground floor wheelchair accessible – and therefore probably somewhat wider.

The requirement given to the architect was to keep the house ‘small’ at about 140 sqm. On the one hand of course because of the high construction costs, but also because we were already happy living in compact apartments. With workspace in the bedroom or living room, etc.

I am less worried about storage space in the kitchen. I would like a clear room height of about 2.80 m on the ground floor and plan a kitchen wall with 4 to 5 as tall as possible kitchen cabinets. I am also skeptical about the work surface; just like with the size of the office. The child’s room #1 really gives me a headache. However, I also keep thinking that this might all be complaining at a high level.

Regarding the room issue, I see three options: (a) leave the layout as is and extend the house southwards by 0.60 - 1.00 m. (b) remove one room and adjust the room planning accordingly. (c) apply for a permit to change the ridge direction and plan the house ‘longer’.

Once again, a big thank you for your help here!

It would make sense to have a section of the site plan so that the neighboring conditions can be seen. The plot is almost 34 m deep, according to the last drawing you are creating a driveway of almost 23 m ... why does the house have to be so far back?

Oh, another one who would rather retreat into the snail shell study until care level nineteen than move if he can no longer crawl up the stairs. From a gerontopsychiatric perspective, that is rather counterproductive.
It's a pity that there is no legend with the speech bubbles indicating which feedback points they correspond to.

That, on the other hand, is not thought from a walker perspective at all, and with the hefty clear room height you are creating a staircase that will become a mortgage on the floor plan.

Don’t ask your architect about details, but have him make his thoughts on the house concept transparent to you.
