Everyone has different demands on what is tight and what is generous (just like with the equipment). I grew up with an 11sqm children's room and also planned the children's rooms (3 in total) in our house to be about the same (12sqm). Others say anything under 18sqm is a cell. Still others build 350sqm for 2 kids.

10sqm reading area, 11sqm dressing room, 2x 14sqm children's rooms has little to do with being small or restrictive for me.

Everyone just has a different sense of space there and different ideas or experiences from childhood. I, for example, grew up with my own bathroom, a gallery, and a terrace door, and definitely had about 40 sqm. In an old farmhouse, there was also enough space available.
