I also perceive the hallway as a long piece with a lot of space, and I believe that the straight staircase brings some consequences; especially on the upper floor. We initially wanted a straight staircase as well, but now we are glad that we abandoned that idea.
The hallway is indeed a long lanky space; but that’s the nature of the matter. For us, it did not necessarily have to be a straight staircase. That resulted from our space needs and their orientation. With another staircase shape, both would no longer work.
Between dining and living it seems to me like an empty space that is hard to use,
Unfortunately, that is still the architect’s furnishing. I was too lazy to adjust it again. This empty space is supposed to be filled in front of the wall (between large sliding door and bay window) with a lowboard and to the left of it (in front of the large sliding door) with a reading corner (large recamiere). Then it will no longer seem empty.
Dining table/kitchen seems a bit tight.
The kitchen island will move up a bit and towards the wall, so that the dining area in the bay window has over 9 sqm (3x3.5 m).
Bedroom on the upper floor has THREE doors, that would be too busy for me.
The dressing room is more like a walk-in closet. There is a sliding door or maybe no door at all. Possibly, the wall stub on the exterior wall will also be removed.
