In my hallway, there is no apartheid between residents and guests - if only to pool the hook capacities.

Our utility room, which is only used for the washing machine and dryer as well as for storing cleaning and washing agents, measures about 10 sqm. There simply wouldn’t be space for more. Now if I imagine that the building services and shelves for "odds and ends" should also go in there ... no way for a wardrobe!
There is also a sink in there. I even use it occasionally - so to speak as a "backup (emergency) bathroom" - when the two ladies feel the need to occupy both (!) bathrooms in the morning (hence the mirrored cabinet). :).

(a picture from unvarnished life ... This part of the house will soon undergo renovation.)

Totally agree! See above ...

*Pedant on* "Something" cannot "make sense." You don’t "make" sense. Something can make sense (be logical) or be meaningful :). This obviously comes from a failed translation and "naturalization" into German of "That makes sense." *Pedant off*

That’s why we have two wardrobes. One on the ground floor, which is also for guests, and a purely private one in the basement, since we go through the basement to the garage to the cars, where guests usually don’t go.

Counter-design in our house: The entrance is a two-part, approximately 25 sqm small section of the house consisting of a laundry room and a wardrobe, there is even a sink, about 4m Pax cupboard, an Eames sofa (which actually belongs in the upcoming office), art on the walls, a black side-by-side fridge with a water connection in a niche. There is access to the guest toilet, a Flatmate desk, direct access to the launch terrace, and access to the second room of the house, the living room. Looks great, is practical, and suits us. Walls are overrated. That's not how it's usually done – so what.

Whether something "makes" sense or "gives" sense, that makes no difference. Since English originally is a Low German dialect, English cannot be "naturalized" into German, but at best "repatriated." There is always someone who acts like a smartass *LOL*

Even the old Lessing used this phrase - just so you know :-)

Therefore "naturalized" in "" :)

Basically, I'm not a smartass ... I actually always know better :):)
*Irony off*
