The customer's will is his heaven. Presumably, the architect thought the same or was glad not to have to think. I always wonder if this profession has no morals when they simply plan such things without comment. How much junk is actually built there?
Surely, as a "small" architect, one learns to simply accept even the strangest customer preferences just to close the deal. But here, I would be interested in the extent of the consultation.
Ultimately, there are at least two people who want to build this object like this. This house shape has long been in the OP's mind with the "wonderful" symmetry. The plot was even chosen specifically for this. Now shaking the foundations is probably a waste of time.
@TE: The forum can only give tips. If you see it all differently, go ahead and build. It is your house, and it surely won't be cheap, and you alone will pay for it.
If it does affect you, then just take a few days off. Afterwards, write down the things that are really non-negotiable and delete the rest. Then start anew.
