I hope that we not only threaten tough sanctions, but absolutely will not tolerate such behavior.
The question is, what do you want to do? They unfortunately don’t need our Italian hard cheese as urgently as we need their gas. I don’t know the state of the Russian economy; I’m not knowledgeable enough about it. I hope they won’t endure the sanctions for long. The last thing we need after 2 years of pandemic is a military conflict between states that have nuclear weapons. o_O
They also want to sell gas. It was explained quite well on ARD this morning what our options are. You can take a look, I think they are reporting all day.
As long as it stays with Ukraine and NATO does not threaten with the stupid idea of military intervention, everything remains somewhat relaxed. I wouldn't go buy iodine now, that would probably be over the top...
Habeck is currently saying that the gas storage facilities are now full for the next winter and new LNG storage facilities are planned and virtually already approved.
