Do you need LAN cables in the garage?

I wanted to ask what you absolutely need LAN in the garage for?

Our electrician would rather not lay a Cat cable into the garage.

He charges double what a Cat cable costs in the house (€500 in the garage) for a Cat socket.

What do you absolutely need LAN for in the garage?

Wallboxes usually all support WLAN

Photovoltaics are also planned for us later

I can’t think of a compelling reason either.

I would definitely do it. Wallbox, cameras, photovoltaics, radio, television, ... Especially in the garage, WLAN is usually catastrophically bad. However, 500€ is cheeky if the garage is not very far away.

The garage is directly attached to the house.
Directly on the other side of the living room.

Question: would the Access Point in the living room emit enough Wi-Fi into the garden? So that there is still enough Wi-Fi at the end of the garden?

The garden is about 11x20m

I would also install at least one box there. If only to install an access point there later.

So should we not do without the CAT socket in the garage?

Do wall boxes have to be connected to the LAN?
