The e-UP is planned to be produced until 2025, but currently the order books are (again) closed. However, that will change. I can only recommend it ;-)

Set up a charging station near the gate because a) parking forwards is more convenient b) nose loaders/front loaders are rather rare (mostly plug-in hybrids, which I wouldn’t plan with) c) you won’t want to charge two cars every day

The supply line and fuse should be designed for 22 kW so that a second charging station could be branched off in the future. If you buy a charging station with a permanently attached charging cable – which is most of them – then take a cable longer than 7m. That way you could also charge a vehicle on the other side with the disadvantage that the cable lies behind the other vehicle. That shouldn’t be a problem in everyday life and if it is, see above (branch off second charging station)

I like your confidence and would wish it for our country as well if VW would really produce and sell this really nice electric car again. Only I do not share this confidence that this will happen again in the next 2-3 years. And then in my opinion it will be too late for VW

We also have charging stations with 6.5m charging cables and I can say that much less would occasionally be uncomfortable. However, they are outside. By the way, on a parking space that is 6 m wide, the doors can be opened at least 50 cm left and right over the 6 m (beet or lawn). Effectively almost like 7 m then. For comfort reasons I would not want to build much less either.

We have our wallbox on the front right wall when you drive into the garage. Since we currently have a Hyundai Kona (front charger), I can back into the garage and easily charge from the front. If there is ever another electric car with a charging port on the back right, I will then drive forward into the garage and have the wallbox directly at the car's charging port. Our car also sometimes stands in front of the garage. Then it is parked facing forward in front of the garage, the cable is connected, and the garage door is closed. Since the door has a rubber lip at the bottom, it does not harm the cable. Regarding the width, I am also skeptical. Our garage has an interior width of about 3.60m, and I find that just acceptable with one car. I cannot imagine how to fit two cars in less than 7m.

Okay, there is only one charger on the right. The wall box at the front is only being prepared. So the cable is laid. Only one car should go in and bicycles on one side. That way we don’t have the "crushing" problem. If we ever go away for a longer time (e.g. vacation), you can still squeeze the cars in :-)

What do you say about the topic of "ventilation"?

It's all possible, but it gets more and more complicated. We currently have double stackers with ~2.30 m, then the steel beams come in. Only the driver can sit inside, and everyone else gets in later. But with a child, that's very annoying.
