That may be, but overall I haven’t made any progress, on the contrary. I know these are all well-intentioned tips, but since I work in a completely different field professionally and am very busy there, and we also need a "timely" solution because a 3-room apartment with 3 children is a bit "tight," honestly, I don’t know how this is supposed to continue if every "idea" is torn apart. Actually, the impression is: no matter what you ask, imagine, or say: it’s never good enough. Unfortunately, not everyone is an expert. I am a layperson in every respect. When I read here, I think: nothing is good enough. Everywhere you think you are being coldly ripped off by every company. Nevertheless, companies like Weberhaus, Fingerhaus, Viebrockhaus, etc., build dozens of houses per year and somehow people are satisfied after all? So apparently it’s simply good enough for many. This is not the standard here, of course, but for someone like me, it’s just frustrating. If you write here “We are building with Weberhaus / Fingerhaus / Gussek Haus, etc..” you get torn to shreds.

I don’t even dare to ask about heating anymore because I get 5 pages of comments telling me that I first need to read and understand everything. But to be honest, I will never understand/need to understand how a heat pump works.

It’s not a problem that you have no building experience; in the end, that doesn’t even have to be a disadvantage. I would consider half-knowledge combined with an inflated ego more dangerous. I read up a little more here and I see, for a layperson, simply too many must-haves or stipulations that you cling to at the beginning; that was criticized.
I am building again, this time with a general contractor. I carefully chose this one afterwards for being flexible and not building catalog houses, because I know that we want to largely choose certain things like heating systems, equipment material, etc. freely. After I found this general contractor, many things became easier and I follow his advice in some matters when he explains understandably that this or that way is better or difficult for him to implement. Sometimes it’s processes or better purchasing prices, etc. For example, I need to implement this with someone whom I find not only competent but also likeable; that’s how I proceed, and I do not want to deal with a salesperson; therefore, many are ruled out.
We knew, for example, that we wanted things like an insulated slab, external venetian blinds, solid wood floorboards, no underfloor heating, etc., and we communicated that from the beginning. We did not aim for a general KfW standard. But now I find out that we will achieve KfW 40 Plus, especially because we are implementing some things we wanted anyway.
At the top of the list was the carefully selected building partner... after that many things become easier. Maybe he can’t implement this or that, but then you have a good partner at hand, which you as a layperson need so as not to fall for advertising slogans.
Mostly, it is recommended here to approach local construction companies/providers first, which I would also recommend; then I would have initial talks with them to see if the chemistry fits.
If in the end you have a beautiful house and your construction company for understandable reasons only installs heating from company XY etc., then that doesn’t matter because you can fail with any manufacturer as well as any house building company.
If I were you, proximity, accessibility, chemistry, and the feeling that you and your wishes are taken seriously would be important to me.
If I were you, all prefab house providers would be ruled out for me; in every area there are reliable companies. If necessary, I would even wait a bit to be able to build exactly with THAT company. That has always worked well for me so far.

It can never be good enough, because we are all laymen as well. Everyone criticizes and complains. If you decide on roller shutters, then it is questioned whether you have electric ones. If you mention electric roller shutters, those who currently afford the latest, namely Venetian blinds (or whatever they are called), complain. Nobody here admits that they rattle like hell and bend, and that quickly.

If you live far away, you need reliability. For me, solid construction would be out of the question. It's that simple. Even with Viebrockhaus, you have to be there every day. I already said it: Viebrockhaus (that was you, right?) is a general contractor who masters his marketing. But it is a normal general contractor who builds solidly. The trades want to talk to the builder, and you have to be able to react quickly before it is built differently than planned. With solid construction, it is common that you settle small matters on site that you have commissioned at short notice. There is always something! You don’t have that with FB.

So, somewhere in between you will find out what type you are, what you can/want to implement........do you have time/want to do such construction site visits? I do, if no time then rather no. It has to fit YOU and you can already find that out from the answers.

Yesss, I’m there every day and like to make changes. If I’m different, my opinion on that is nonsense. Every builder needs the partner that fits them..... it’s almost like real life. Whether there is one wooden board more or less on the wall does not make a difference.
We don’t know you either and we are all different; besides, we only realize afterward whether it was smart. From the - luckily - so different answers you can find things that can show you a good way.
