As others have already written, you don’t have to be an expert. In the last 18 pages you have exclusively and only and anyway dealt with technology. What kind of house you want, you have not mentioned with a single word. How do you want to live? By "how" the materials are not meant – they are basically irrelevant. It is about rooms, a feeling of well-being, a daily use, etc. With that you go to a construction company and express your wishes. Then see what comes next – it can become something massive locally or a prefab house off the shelf. As said, in the end it doesn’t matter. It costs the same, feels the same – and is right for you and your family.

Uh... sorry... I read that as "a different location," long commutes and such. In that sense, I take that back. My faux pas. And yes, I also somehow had the feeling that we were just messing around with technology here.

Of course I'm sure. Why shouldn't it be possible?
From the outset, we had heavily insulated the base slab, controlled residential ventilation, photovoltaics, very strong roof insulation, plus wooden cladding, which we will now insulate further behind.......
We didn't do this to achieve fw, but the calculation yielded good values and it will now be appropriately adjusted. I'm not saying it fell from the sky on its own, but we wanted most of these things anyway. We were apparently already well below Kfw55 before.

... which is hardly surprising when you don't set out on any path or, even more, don't even target a goal. You endlessly get sidetracked with parameters, coefficients, materials, and features. The "only thing you're missing" is at the same time the only ingredient you actually need: namely visions of what you actually want. I told you here in post #5 that you should show your property and fill out the questionnaire. Where would I have overlooked answers to that? Instead, you do namedropping of construction companies here and weigh wall constructions on postal scales. Not making progress like this is neither called bad luck nor a miracle, but simply a causal connection. Just turn the laptop around to your wife - she is apparently less decision-averse, after all, not all three children can be Tropis ;-)
