The advantage of regional can be that they may be more flexible, you do not co-finance their advertising, and you are not a small fish. And that they know the local conditions

Thanks. Quast at least does not state on the website that they wouldn’t also build nationwide, but I understand what you mean. The question is from when you still consider a company local/regional. Streif Haus is, for example, also from Herborn, only 40 km from here. But they are not small either. The risks of a small company are of course also present when thinking about insolvency and possibly defects. In the end, that might not help if you are currently the only customer. I am therefore surprised by this accusatory manner that is directed at me. Nobody says that a big player has only advantages, but also certainly not only disadvantages...
How would you assess the issue with the wall? Are these differences that characterize each manufacturer relevant? I had already described that above.

Advantages could, besides the absence of bureaucracy and the already mentioned flexibility, be that a local general contractor/subcontractor [GU/GÜ] has an existing company network with long-standing relationships, so that if a subcontractor fails, another emergency service can immediately take over.
A general contractor active across regions probably does not necessarily have this.
Size is also no protection against insolvency for all the mentioned prefabricated house manufacturers. These are not billion-dollar companies. A company making 100-300, maybe 500 million in sales with an EBITDA of 5 - maximum 10% collapses just as quickly as a 10-20 million company. Possibly the risk is even higher because size means the CEO can no longer keep track of everything, which is still more possible in a small company.

Due to lack of expertise, I cannot say anything about the different wall constructions.

The big ones have the best advertising departments and the best lawyers. The advantages of their own wall structure are hammered into the sellers so well that you believe it without doubting. With small plots these days, just ask about soundproofing, the noise level of the heat pump outside, soundproofing values of doors and windows, burglary resistance classes, if you listen to the sellers, you will soon have a passive house, and only from them.

Hi,
back then we also built with a large provider (Heinz von Heiden), it was near Hannover and that’s where they are based.
At that time, however, they were still somewhat regional and not so big yet.
Everything actually went great.
Currently we have also checked out all the well-known big ones (including Heinz von Heiden), visited various model home parks, but we will now build with a regional general contractor 95% of the time because the overall package fits best.
He knows his stuff, knows the plot, and is flexible. The price is also okay.
Besides, he can build our house exactly the way we want it, which is not so easy with the others.
Okay, more than we originally planned but with the big ones it would have been even more expensive overall.
Cheers Olli

You want to "just build a house," but "absolutely KfW40." In a free country, wanting both at the same time is allowed, but apart from "having no clue," I see no connection between the two wishes. Rensch-Haus I already named for you two years ago as equivalent to the one you're looking for, they're also in Hesse, but I wouldn't classify them regionally. Quast more so, but I wouldn't have dared to assign Wenden in Sauerland to the Frankfurt / Main region. The formulas for the wall construction do not differ much within the KfW level, no more than hopping and jumping; the walls are each built by carpenters, and the copywriters have all learned something different. If the boss tells one copywriter that, according to an internationally renowned consulting firm, a foil must be called "Rumpelstilzchen" in a more marketable way, then he will just call it Rumpelstilzchen. It remains a vapor barrier. Rundstück, Semmel, Weckla, Schrippe - there are supposedly people who say Brötchen. Whether there's poppy seed on top or gluten inside might make a difference for some people - not the name.
