I'll take that with us to our architect.

Do you see any other screws we could turn?

For example, my contribution just now?

Cool. I guess he knows how to design a house. Ultimately, it is the wishes of the builders that make him design what it becomes.
So if you want to build with a basement, he will design a house with a basement for you. If you tell him: well, preferably without a basement because it's too expensive, then he will design a house without a basement according to your wishes. That's how it should be.
The house design itself, which you posted, is not exactly an art style – this variant exists in abundance, with a utility room and a technical room.

Two points were ultimately decisive for us: - is the architect’s estimate too high? (I think that’s settled) - where could one sensibly save in order to get back into the budget? Here I take "without basement" and 11 by 9. Are there still large blocks at this point before the input planning? For example, the part regarding the attic, etc., from my previous post?

That costs more. Quite a bit, because up to the point where the cold roof would be, it then has to be additionally insulated and drywalled. The slopes of the roof have a larger surface area than a ceiling.

Yes, you are right. I just recalculated. You have to lower the knee wall on the first floor well in order not to increase the enclosed space (compared to the cold attic). However, our architect's estimate would go downwards, as he estimates based on gross volume and does not consider whether the attic is cold or warm...

That doesn't matter how much he estimates. What counts is what you ultimately have to pay. Or do you believe that if you artificially make the GFA look better, the house will be cheaper?
