At the beginning, our bathroom was also smaller. But then a small corridor room was created that could not be used sensibly. That is why we moved the sauna from the basement upstairs. The children's room could be made a bit smaller. The hallway could be reduced to about 1.5 meters. Since the staircase has to be underpinned because of the basement exit, the hallway quickly feels quite cramped if it were made any smaller. The kitchen could also be made a bit smaller. But what do you do with those few extra square meters? As long as the pantry is there, I can't fit the office behind the kitchen. Regarding the basement: Where do I put the utility room, storage options, etc.? As far as I know, basement replacement rooms are not allowed for us and would not fit in the building area either.
