First question after the photo with the APL:

Who put the APL there and who installed the gray cable?

The reason is that actually only a Telekom technician and/or a subcontractor is allowed to work on the APL.

The APL usually also has a strange screw like that.

Normally Telekom installs the APL and the first TAE socket.

They also activate the line at the "Amt" first.

Have you talked to your network provider?

So far, I don't have a provider yet. However, during the online check, I only got a hit with Telekom. All other well-known online providers do not find the address.

No, there is no TAE socket in the utility room. A TAE socket is installed in the hallway. Among the tangled cables between the network and satellite cables, there were 2 "thin" gray cables that could originate from this APL.

What really annoys me is that I now actually have to talk to the electrical installer about everything he has installed and what I need to do next! If I had been able to plan all of this myself, I would have been involved in the topic from the very beginning.

: is the house from a property developer?

Because normally you contact the builder’s service, e.g. from Telekom. This is done about 20 weeks before moving in.

In the course of this process, there is an APL.

That doesn’t just grow on trees, and the regular electrician usually doesn’t install it in the house either.

I suggest you contact your contact person who provided you with the house

Is there also a network socket near the TAE socket?

You can also "patch" telephones over the network. We have the TAE in the utility room, from there I go to the patch panel, from there somewhere (specifically: hallway), where the FritzBox is located, the second network cable then goes back to the utility room/patch panel.

Hmm, okay, I will contact my seller. I wanted to call Telekom anyway in the next few days regarding the line.

No, there is no network socket in the utility room. I have 5 network sockets and one TAE socket throughout the house. This is located in the hallway. However, there is no network socket there.

One more question on the side: If I have a network socket in the living room, can I somehow "clone" the socket, like with regular power outlets? Or doesn’t that work so simply with network cables? Currently, I am planning to lay a flat cable along the baseboard.
