The planning... when planning, the chimney and an open gable are already taken into account, since the location of the chimney depends on the roof and rooms with an open gable and their effect also depend on the roof construction. It is already important in advance to know in which direction the gable faces. Arbitrary drawing and sketching is often not possible or is restricted.

And by the floor plan juggling of it is meant that you already start to chisel everything in stone with the rooms upstairs, instead of switching rooms around and simply arranging them differently.

It's definitely not great. The staircase is in a sh... position, extends too far into the hallway, and the hallway and rooms are really not arranged sensibly. They are just distributed along the outer walls...

Understood.

Well, I have already "rolled the dice" and that is by far the best "throw" so far. Which has also improved based on your feedback.

My first motivation was to arrange 3 equally sized (and large) children's rooms on the right side (cardinal direction). The other rooms then grew from that.

Well, of course I could completely reinstall it, then it wouldn't protrude too far and the hallway would be significantly smaller. It is intentionally like this in this design, since you said it would otherwise be very tight and oppressive upstairs when going up. In that case, I am a bit at a loss now.

Try a different staircase
or a square or rectangle
Left children’s room
Right parent (similar to below in the original draft)
Hallway open at one end, e.g. with an open gable if that is liked or if an open space makes sense (you originally wanted this and it was not up for discussion)
at the other end children’s bathroom and utility room

But you have only rolled the dice 3 times...

A design grows optimally over weeks. It’s like a plant during cultivation.

...You are already very fixed when it comes to the width and length of the house. The staircase could also be moved or arranged differently.
One would think that you are gutting an existing property and planning it anew.
Sorry, is there a room layout as well as a nice-to-have list?
Photos with house views, what you like?
The last few hours may have been fun for you, but if you ever want to build, you should approach it with more concept and time.
Usually, there’s something out there that already gives the direction.

Haven’t you actually read this here?

Exactly, and likewise with the dogma of the children's rooms I meant, as already written, whether they are already fixed there. The design looks exactly as you described it. You stuck three equally sized children's rooms to the best possible orientation and tried to cobble everything else around it. And due to the square floor plan with a straight staircase, not much was left.

Don't think in boxes, tear down boundaries, don't let yourself be dogmatized by old traditions, set out for new horizons... umm, what was it again, sorry I just got lost philosophizing ah yes floor plan... I want to say your intention is right but you don't always have to fulfill everything 100%. Children have also grown up with more west instead of south sun without turning into Robert Pattinson and they are allowed to have other shapes sometimes, they don't all have to be square and if one children's room is 15 sqm and the other 14 sqm, it doesn't immediately call parental love into question.

...I think you know what I mean...

However, one should already consider where the path will roughly lead. You seem to be traveling from Italy to Portugal, even though you are skiers...
