I generally recommend starting with the upper floor because of its more complex layout and deriving the ground floor from it.
As for the ground floor "variants": these are more or less just different furnishings. I usually like doodling, but the dimensions of the furnishings should be taken fairly seriously: at the breakfast bar you sit closer together than at the dining table, even though in the morning you are no slimmer or move any less expansively.
By the way, a TV program does not get any better by pendulating the position of the set with a dowsing rod.
