No matter how I rotate the house on the plot ... if I place the garden next to the house on the left side of the plan, I mostly have shade there as well, because the house is 2.5 stories high (plus a basement that stands over 1m above the current ground level), and that’s why we oriented the house this way. It wasn’t about the orientation itself, but rather about improvements to the floor plan in general – basically brainstorming.

I would try placing the garage on the right side of the plan.

First of all, the plot and the floor plan must match. The former is not variable, so the house must be smaller here. Secondly, the approach of starting by shoving the garage towards the ugly neighbor’s house and then only positioning the rooms of the house as a second priority is rather not a fortunate way. Thirdly, height differences are unavoidable and only moderately and expensively alterable realities.

Kitchen and living room become incredibly dark and you are looking at a 3.5m-4m wall+garage. The technical room, on the other hand, is nicely sunny. Why exactly does one want it that way?
