By the way, I was at a house on the lower properties today. Excavation and disposal costs ended up being twice as expensive as planned. From the upper edge of the finished floor at the patio door down to the property boundary, it drops 4 meters. A chasm of 2.5 meters from the patio door to the ground and hardly any budget left for the outdoor area. You can't just save up for that after moving in.

But I also wanted to build 150 sqm for 300k€. :-p

From the upper edge of the finished floor of the patio door to the property boundary, it goes down 4m. An abyss of 2.5m from the patio door to the ground and hardly any budget left for the outdoor area. You can't save up for something like that after moving in.

Outdoor areas are often underestimated and saving up later is overestimated

That or I would have had to sell the plot. It ended up being 140 sqm with a 70 sqm basement.
