We already live by the railway. It hasn’t bothered us and won’t bother us in the future. I find cars much more annoying; however, the trains don’t run all the time, but two trains per hour plus the occasional freight train. But as I said, we don’t know it any other way. And it doesn’t bother us.

According to noise categorization by the Eisenbahnbundesamt, an average of 7 trains per hour.

If you can handle the train noise and vibrations, it’s okay. Very likely you will also clearly feel the trains, especially at night.

As I said, I have been living here by the tracks for 13 years and from night 1 I sleep like a baby. Of course, they are annoying during the day (in the yard) or in summer (with the window open), but even if the train strikes, we don’t even notice that no trains are running...
