Is this a real scenario? Bright sun that blinds while at the same time such strong wind that the venetian blinds have to be raised?! [emoji848]
Otherwise, despite my preference for rail guidance: the probability of damage with venetian blinds with cable guidance and flat slats is supposed to be rather lower, which makes sense to me:
If the wind blows on them, the venetian blinds give way precisely because of the cable guidance, the clamped slats with side guidance absorb the wind force ... until they bend. And the bends are then permanent.
With flat slats in cable suspension, they are supposed to twist rather than bend, which looks wild at first, but is supposed to be reversible.
Sounds plausible to me. So in both cases it makes sense to have a wind guard and maybe you gain one wind strength level through the side guidance (I think Warema writes that somewhere in their documents – it should be similar for others).
