Ybias78, your attitude comes across as rather snobbish to me. Like with the doctors in Westerland, it is a bit more expensive, but you are among your own....

OK. Dumbest saying in the thread. Sorry...

I can gladly tear apart your equipment list and respond with that phrase to things you deliberately (due to budget constraints) forego.

Just the fact that you are building in the middle of nowhere in Brandenburg...in my opinion the worst area in Germany. No matter how "quick" you are by train to Berlin.
Didn't you manage to get a plot in the immediate commuter belt?? Then maybe you should just skip building altogether.

Already so aggressive in the morning? Save your nerves for the construction. If you get this worked up in the forum, you'll have a heart attack during the build...

In the end, it was about sustainability and cost savings you get with a good roof.

I definitely keep my fingers crossed that everything works out the way you want.

And about Bavaria? Anyone living in a state ruled by the CSU (Andy money-wasting machine Scheuer, Chrissi Dobrindt, Seehofer) and all those "experts" shouldn't stick their necks out too far.

My brother-in-law reroofed his new building with Braas concrete roof tiles about three years ago... they shine and sparkle like on the first day. I find it funny that some people write here... expect 10k more here, at least 5k more there, and then wonder why "building" has become so expensive... but don't even get baseboards installed on the wall.

I consider that a rumor. In our street (a housing estate from 1965), many roofs are still made of concrete roof tiles and they are still as watertight today as they were 50 years ago and will certainly remain watertight for the next 50 years. They no longer look like they did in the first year but still serve their purpose.
Until the attic was converted, we still had a roof made of Eternit sheets, and those were still as watertight as 50 years ago. We only had the roof redone because it was necessary for the conversion. By the way, looking at the old roof did not diminish my joy of coming home.

A concrete roof mosses more easily. That is true. A concrete roof lasts shorter, that is not true. These are the facts.
