What kind of pub talk you come up with is quite amusing.
There is no maintenance, the real germ breeding ground is probably your toilet and your sink, cleaning is not necessary either, and electricity consumption can be neglected – unless you have to plan your monthly budget down to 5€. And no one said anything about "saving money," but about gaining comfort.

My regulars' sayings about costs simply come from the Verbraucherzentrale! Google helps!

We will talk again in 20 years.

Where does the idea of contamination come from?

The Verbraucherzentrale NRW only states that a controlled residential ventilation system is recommended. It does not say anything about contamination.

But yes, there is a note about the costs (see text). These are very individual, however. You can calculate electricity yourself, change/cut filters yourself (I pay a small single-digit € amount p.a. for self-purchased filter mats, which I cut myself including pollen filters as an allergy sufferer). Cleaning is as needed – if the controlled residential ventilation system runs regularly, the need for it might not even arise after 10 years (from experience).
So these are maximum costs that can possibly be reduced by 95% in maintenance. You just have to want to. But that won’t be discussed at the regulars’ table; there they just bash it.

I want to make that clear once again. I am not against the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung]! My claim is that the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] brings me no economic advantages. To what extent maintenance costs can be reduced I do not want to judge, however, completely without maintenance (statement from ypg) I have serious concerns.

a controlled residential ventilation is in my opinion NEVER economical (did anyone claim that?) Even if filter costs amount to only a few euros (cutting them yourself), the power consumption is higher than the saved amount of energy (my centralized controlled residential ventilation requires about 30-40 watts in continuous operation according to the data sheet, but I have not measured it myself. The saved amount of energy (my controlled residential ventilation shows this, I converted it into euros) was about €35 per year.
