He should come by when it's -20 degrees here and the air-water heat pump kicks in.
I only hear our controlled residential ventilation outside if I'm standing right at the outlet in absolute silence and the system is running at at least level 3 out of 4. There are just crazy people. We were really lucky with our neighbors, but it can turn out differently. Even if it's hard for you: I would try not to let it escalate further. There are only losers in that. Just tell him you would turn the system down (you don’t have to actually do it, he probably won’t even notice). And shading is the best heat protection anyway.

I probably would have strangled him by now, but that doesn’t have to be the right way.

: the OP himself says that he hears it and can relate...

So it is not a whisper device...

Hi Illo 77,

will you also tell us what kind of [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] you have? I am really sensitive to noise myself, but I have never heard more than a quiet rustling from a [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung]. The unit itself is also inside the house, so technically you shouldn't hear anything from outside, right?!?

What kind of wall outlets to the outside do you have? If anything, the noise must be coming from there? Maybe you could, to show goodwill (which you probably don't feel like doing anymore), replace the air outlet or the air intake grilles for a small amount of money. Maybe that will calm your neighbors down again.

No one wants 25 more years of stress with such a jerk... (but unfortunately, I fear you will have it...)

Best regards,

Andreas

I can understand it - depending on the size and throughput, the systems are not quiet - especially on the exhaust side. And normally no silencer is installed there, but that is possible. On level 3 of 4 I can clearly hear the system - on level 2 you have to make an effort. Nevertheless, you probably won’t get anywhere, and you can also tell that you are somewhat provoking. Otherwise, just install a silencer, then he can’t do anything to you anymore.

I know this problem from our neighborhood. The [controlled residential ventilation] of a neighbor was so loud that even we, two houses away, were affected. However, we only heard it on the balcony. The inspection revealed an uninstalled, forgotten [sound attenuator]. Since its installation, it has been largely quiet. Nevertheless, the system is not really quiet, and the location next to the neighbor's bedroom, who has been living there two years longer, is very poorly chosen. Unfortunately, the neighborly relationship between the parties involved has not improved anymore.

In our residential area, there is already trouble because of two of the outdoor units of heat pumps. Thank God we neighbors don’t install such crap We all heat with old school gas
