Dry air is not a characteristic of a ventilation system. Dry air is the logical consequence of cold weather outside and regular ventilation. Anyone who manually performs their 5 air changes has the same problem in winter. By the way, the same goes for those living with the drafty windows from back in the day and effectively having continuous ventilation.

And whoever has a controlled residential ventilation system can attach a humidity sensor and then actually control based on absolute (!) humidity.

That's true, but since most people ventilate too little, few have the problem with dry air, and it is more noticeable with controlled residential ventilation.

I have only read about half so far. Maybe someone has already mentioned it ;-)
Are own contributions possible? Then maybe you could lay the pipes yourself from the air distributors. Controlled residential ventilation is not rocket science. Short instructions, work cleanly and quietly - done. Maybe the savings potential is enough for you to still be able to afford controlled residential ventilation?

P.S: I would never want to be without it again. I am often away from home for a long time, it then stands empty and no one is there to ventilate. In winter I also don't want to ventilate .. brrrrr.

You have your €6200 back after about 16 years, I definitely see savings in the long run, the house will certainly last much longer ;)

400 EUR maintenance / year (of course, you can also leave it out, then it is just 5,000 EUR every 6 years for repairs), 50 EUR filter every six months, after 30 years you probably need at least a new ball bearing, no idea what that costs in labor.
