Well, we have a planner (from the general contractor) – but for example, after my last request for recommendations, he installed 1m windows everywhere to comply with the “portrait format” required by the regulations. So that doesn’t really help me either. I will send him our proposals this evening and once again urgently ask for recommendations – maybe something will still come of it.

What do you mean by that? The lintel is above the windows... do you mean the window sill? I think the regulation can be complicated as well: yes, it's a bit off, but the important thing here is that they are not wider than they are tall. The lintel is at about 220 cm. You still have the freedom to make floor-to-ceiling windows, for example, 1 meter or 2 meters wide, with a height of 220 cm they are still upright, they just need to be "structured" in the middle and at the top. The pillars facing the street must be at least 0.24 m wide if the windows are in a row.

I am not an architect, they have to know such things. But I think you are complicating things a bit now.

.. and then with cassette blinds, not much light will get through. By the way, the camber depends on the room height and is somewhat variable. Therefore, a window just has to be narrower than it is tall.

I cannot quite follow the collapse idea. A local architect will be most likely able to interpret how the gibberish regulations are meant.

Very briefly on the subject of "lintel": my question in this regard has nothing to do with the statutes. It is about the fact that our floor-to-ceiling windows are currently planned by the general contractor with a height of 2.13m. With a room height of 2.56m, this results in a lintel of 43cm. That simply seems quite a lot to me, and I wonder whether I should ask the planner to set the height of the windows to, for example, 2.20.

For whatever reason: tripping edge at the bottom, at the top. Honestly, I can't imagine that he has different heights built from the lintel. It complicates the construction, and such special features are only planned upon request.
