Children cost money. On the one hand, you have costs for clothing, food, childcare, club memberships, additional expenses for purchases (children's room), extra holiday costs. None of this is covered 100% by child benefits & tax reductions.
On the other hand, one parent reduces to part-time. So this also means a loss of income.

And to me it sounds like the child only disturbs your career planning and therefore had to be gone again as quickly as possible.My wife now has one year of parental leave and wants to work full-time again afterwards (35 hours according to the collective agreement). She has no interest in less, quote: I didn't study for four years so that after the birth of our child I only do the idiot jobs in the company because of part-time work, for which I wouldn't have had to study. She enjoys the work, so why should she stay at home for three years or only work full-time again when the child goes to school? To me, it sounds like some women don't enjoy their jobs and use the child as an extreme strategy to take a long break here. I find that totally creepy and also inappropriate from the women.
