The idea that you might want to spend time with the children you bring into the world never occurred to you? Common thinking: child cute, but after a year it has to go away again. These are the parents who are currently completely losing it - 6 hours a day Disney+ and the rest of the time a bit of beating.

Of course, that's true, but I assume that parents also get regular and usual salary increases. Hardly anyone earns the same at 60 as at 30. You have to be able to offset that, so that in the end at least the same amount should remain as before without a child.

Times have changed. Women want to pursue careers just as much as men.

And to me it sounds like the child only disturbs your career planning and therefore had to be gone again as quickly as possible.

Doesn't sound like that to me at all. Just because you have children doesn't mean you have to give up 100% on everything.

Why do people have children if they WANT to work FULL-TIME (meaning 35+ hours)? I’m not talking about those who maybe HAVE TO because there needs to be something to put on the table. The vision that the day of today’s emancipated parents has 36 hours and that you can easily combine 2 full-time jobs and the time needed for children was always suspicious to me. And from my experience, it only works half well.
