To avoid any misunderstanding: We have no loans that we want to defer and are not in short-time work or similar. I just meant that this option is available for people. It could also be that the urgently needed car breaks down or similar. My inquiry was not meant to be judgmental.

There was even talk of a (consumption) desire. I did not bring that into the game. And the legislator intended the deferral to help people in financial emergencies. Which ultimately comes at the expense of the banks, since installments are not paid. At least in the short term. I simply consider it antisocial to exploit this to realize consumption desires.

OK, sorry, I thought you were talking about yourself personally. Of course, the car can break down. But where are then the reserves that one should have for that? If you get into financial difficulties because of the broken car, something went wrong with the financing.

That is not what I meant with my question. Rather more "sensible" things, like the mentioned outdoor facility, or the solar panels planned for later, etc. Something for which initially money, the idea or time was lacking. I probably chose the term (consumption) wish incorrectly.

You are right. Quite clearly, I chose the term "(consumption) desire" incorrectly. I'm sorry.

Sorry, I definitely agree with you there. It even increases in value! Typical internet misunderstanding
