100% financing - I understand that!

At least from my construction area, acquaintances, and circle of friends, I can give you an idea. Women only work full-time starting from elementary school age. Many work part-time from the second year or not at all initially.

Yes, there are also those who go back to full-time work after 2 years despite having 2 children (known couple, only one child) but they don’t build.

If you decide to have 2 or more children, the whole topic of 2 full salaries is postponed even longer.

For many, daycare/nursery care then takes up part of the part-time salary as well, and suddenly the calculation that was made before having children is completely useless.

Yes, friend and acquaintance circles can be so different. I don’t know anyone who has been on parental leave for longer than 18 months. Most go back to work after a year, not because they have to, but because they usually want to. My wife also only wants to take 12 months of parental leave, and after that, we will both reduce our working hours to 70%. For us, the loss of income is then limited to about €500.

Children cost money. On the one hand, you have costs for clothing, food, childcare, clubs, additional expenses for purchases (children's room), additional holiday costs. None of this is covered 100% by child benefits and tax reductions.

On the other hand, one parent reduces to part-time. This also means a loss of income here.

I don't know anyone in my environment where both parents work 100%.

I have a different perception. Those who manage well do not go online and ask the "can we afford it" question. They know they have solid finances.

It is usually the questioners who themselves know that finances are tight, or the building dimension doesn’t fit (see also 1, I have a manager title at work and therefore want to build a castle).

If I have calculated correctly, then 140% instead of 200%. The absolute amount varies for everyone (tax classes, income level, etc.).

Nevertheless, financing often comes up where even with both working full time it is tight, and often the man says "we don't want children" or "not planned for the next 8 years."

My wife now has one year of parental leave and wants to work full-time (35 hours according to the collective agreement) afterward. She has no interest in working less, quote: I didn’t study for four years so that after the birth of our child I only do the idiot jobs in the company because of part-time work, for which I didn’t have to study. She enjoys her work, so why should she stay at home for three years or only work full-time again once the child starts school?

To me, it sounds like some women do not enjoy their jobs and use the child as an excuse to take a long break. I find that totally creepy and also inappropriate from the women.
