but I would always prefer granite for the window sills (e.g. Steel Grey or Nero Ass.), possibly a rolling layer for a clinker facade.
I wanted to pick that out again because it was one of those points during construction that I would have done differently afterwards. The architect said aluminum is wonderful. The window manufacturer said aluminum is wonderful, with a great anti-drumming strip underneath.
Of course, you do hear the rain on the windowsill after all – which I actually wanted to avoid.
There are obviously more unpleasant noises when sleeping, but I actually wanted it differently. Well. On the other hand, it was cheap (really, the aluminum things cost hardly anything).
