Yes, the project shown in the top picture ("House for Julia and Björn") is very wooden. You have to like that. Mitigated and only referring to the windows it would be (of course possible without wooden jambs):

I would be careful with black window frames inside... that is really hard on the eyes. Or did you mean outside?

Hm, don't scare me... I meant inside as well as outside... We thought about it for a long time and otherwise we have little frills decorating the house (no pictures, no other colors, little stuff lying around), mostly white walls. So we thought that would definitely work as a highlight. Now I'm not so sure anymore...

In what you describe as style, a black window frame will be a very, very, very dominant highlight. It wouldn't be my thing (doesn't have to be). Do you have a way to simulate it somewhere (like wrapping the window frame black in a comparable environment or something)?

What speaks against natural wood? It's beautiful!

Unfortunately, we don’t know anyone we could look at it with, and there are very few pictures on the internet (at least maybe I’m just too stupid to find the right keywords.

And that brings us back to the topic of different tastes :). For us, wood is everything (good for building houses, making fire, putting raclette pans on, etc.), but not really beautiful, it reminds both of us of our parents’ houses :D (irreparably wood-damaged).

Why bother with wood/aluminum windows at all? It's not exactly the cheapest option either. Double-sided colored ones are also available in high-quality plastic.

By simulating, I meant sticking a black foil, insulating tape, paper, or similar onto an existing white frame. It might help to get an impression. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Wood-aluminum because it feels more premium in direct comparison. We don’t think plastic windows are bad; compared to earlier times, they aren’t anymore either, but with none of the plastic windows we’ve had so far (and there have been quite a few recently) did we get that feeling of quality that you get with aluminum or wood (hard to describe). It’s simply worth it to us. A bonus came up because with the aluminum shell on the outside you can implement the play with black, which is said to be problematic with plastic. Inside, you have quite a bit of freedom with color choice...

But your idea to experiment with black tape is great and not really a big effort! We’ll definitely try that! Just need to find a fairly wide tape that preferably can be removed without leaving any traces. :D
