Yes exactly, that is actually the plan... we would mask the height difference with a compensating rail.

Why do you want to do that? I would get the same Jura marble in a different format and tile the gap created by the missing wall with it.

If the floor is to remain, then the fashion trend (weiß) might not be the best choice for the kitchen.

I wouldn’t go 100% new when renovating. Why not highlight the gap where the wall was with a contrasting color? Presumably, a beam will be placed on top there?

You can get Jura marble in all desired thicknesses and formats. I would only fill the gap created by the demolition. Especially in white, the floor is very beautiful, as it does not look too sterile but remains understated.

Am I understanding correctly that you want to lay a tile on top of the marble? I can't quite imagine such a height difference looking nice right now.

Yes, exactly, that's what we planned and then finish the transition with a leveling strip.

Unfortunately not. However, the stairs are recessed, meaning there are walls on the right and left, so you only see the closed steps. Currently, there is a carpet on them, but it will be removed. The only question is what should go on the steps afterwards.
