I would also reduce the depth of the kitchen island if one can do without the storage space and have a passage width between the island and the kitchen of 1.25m. From a practical perspective, I would also not place the sink and cooktop centrally but offset. This way you have generous work surfaces. Do you put your kitchen on parquet?

Unfortunately, there are no special storage alternatives there. Yes, parquet flooring is to be installed throughout there.

I would definitely set it all up and try using it daily. We have 1.20 m between the kitchen and the island, and I find it a bit much. It's okay, but actually 1 m would be enough for us.

Think beforehand about what you want to store there and whether three large drawers are ideal for that. We have the same cooktop but pushed it further outwards. However, we also have the sink on the island, which is on the other outside side. But both so that there is still enough space up to the edge to safely place something (about 35cm). Symmetry on the inside was largely unimportant to me; I only see it if I look closely. What was important to me was that I can store everything properly. For example, I have a 30cm narrow pull-out cupboard to the left of the cooktop, where bottles stand below (including various vinegar and oil bottles) and two small drawers for spices on top. I find that very practical. With a 1m module you would already have to divide inside. So I stand at the stove, just pull out the cupboard and have oil and spices right at hand. Under the cooktop we have an 80cm module, the first row with two sockets, then a drawer for larger cutlery like cooking spoons, salad utensils, meat tongs, and at the very bottom a large drawer for pots. I would seriously consider whether the 1m module with drawers fits for you there. Then I would stick to the depth of the island to store dishes, etc. When you set the table, it's also easier to get stuff from the front. For example, we have the 3x1m module on the front side, each with two drawers of 1m width stacked on top of each other.
